The Czech Bass-baritone Lukáš Bařák, is curently a member of the ensambel of the National Therater in Prague. Where he performes roles such as Guglielmo in Cosi fan tutte (Tatjana Gürbaca, Karsten Januschke), Morales in Carmen (Grisha Assagarof, Petr Popelka), Schaunard in La Bohem (Ondřej Havelka, Karl-Heinz Steffens) Marullo (Barbora Horáková Jolly, Vincenzo Milletarí) Masetto in Don Giovanni (Alexander Mörk Eidem, Karsten Januschke) etc.
Recent operatic experiences include Morales in Lidya Steier‘s production of Bizet‘s Carmen (Lidya Steier, Claude Schnitzler) in the Cologne opera house where he was performing also Papageno in Magic flute (Brigitta Gillessen, Rainer Mühlbach.
Following succesfull production of Robert Carsen at the Janáček festival in Brno as Verva and Konečný in Janáček‘s Fate. In autumn 2021 performed with great success the title role of Elias in Mendelssohn oratorio (Petr Altrichter, FOK – Prague Symphony Orchestra) .
He performed the role of Guglielmo also in Schloss Schönbrunn in Vienna (Michael Schade, Brenda Rein, Luisella Germano and Vladimir Kiradjiev)
He made his role and house debut at the South-Bohemian theater in České Budějovice in the Czech Republic as Figaro (Le Nozze di Figaro at the young age of 22) and was subsequently nominated for the Czech cultural award „Thalia price“. He also made his debut at the Prague Estate theater in the Czech Republic as Masetto (Don Giovanni) in 2015. In the following years, he introduces himself as Papageno (Die Zauberflöte) at the F. X. Šalda Theatre in Liberec, as well as in Daegu Opera (South Korea). He assumed smaller roles at the National Theatre Prague, Morales (Carmen), Edler (Lohengrin) and in the National Moravian-Silesian Theatre Ostrava Junius (Rape of Lucretia), Verva, Konečný (Janáček‘s Destiny), Marchese (La Traviata)
Mr. Bařák has sung with many orchestras, for example, with Wiener Concert-Verein Mozart‘s program in Dubai opera house, Lithuanian National Philharmonic – Dvořák‘s Te deum, FOK Mendelsohn‘s - Elias. Philharmony Brno, Janáček Philharmonic orchestra, Pilsen Philharmonic orchestra – Dvořák‘s Biblical songs and other. He was performing at the Janáček's festival in Ostrava (Czech Republic) as Vilotto (Hayden's opera List und Liebe), Baritone part in Te Deum by Antonín Dvořák with Janáček's Philharmony Ostrava with the conductor Petr Altrichter and other concerts
In summer 2015 he attended singing courses in Italy with Maestro Renato Bruson. The same year he had the possibility to participate at a Masterclass with Adam Plachetka in the Czech Republic.
He also attended ISA summer courses in Vienna with Regina Köbler and Bernd Weikl.
Mr. Bařák has received many vocal awards from vocal competitions such as the price of National Theater in Brno and 3rd place at the Antonín Dvořák competition and the 1st price at Bohuslav Martinů competition.
Lukáš has finished a Master‘s degree from the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague in 2017 with professor Ivan Kusnjer and studied Master program at the Universität Für Musik und darstellende Kusnt in Wien - Opera with prof. Margit Klaushofer, prof. Beverly Blankenship and prof. Peter Marschik and Lied und Oratorium with prof Charles Spencer.
Basbarytonista Lukáš Bařák je od roku 2020 v angažmá v Národním divadle v Praze, kde v současné době vystupuje jako Guglielmo v Cosi fan tutte (Tatjana Gürbaca, Karsten Januschke) Morales v Carmen (Grisha Assagarof, Petr Popelka), Schaunard v La Boheme (Ondřej Havelka, Karl-Heinz Steffens), Marullo v Rigoletovi (Barbora Horáková Jolly, Vincezo Milletari), Masetto v Donu Giovannim (Alexander Mörk Eidem, Karsten Januschke) aj.
V sezóně 2018/2019 a 2019/2020 hostoval v opeře v Kolíně nad Rýnem, kde ztvárnil role Papagena v Kouzelné flétně (Brigitta Gillessen, Rainer Mülbach) a Moralese v Carmen (Lydia Steier, Claude Schnitzler).
Roli Gulielma ztvárnil také ve vídeňském zámeckém divadle v Schönbrunnu (Michael Schade, Brenda Rein a Luisella Germano, Vladimir Kiradjiev)
Dále hostuje v Národním divadle v Brně, kde se představil jako Konečný a Verva elév v Janáčkově Osudu, který režíroval světoznámý kanadský režisér Robert Carsen. V Brně ztvárnil také role Schaunarda v režii Magdy Švecové a Marchese v La Traviatě.
V roce 2017 zpíval part Juniuse v opeře Rape of Lucretia Benjamina Brittena v Moraskoslezském divadle v Ostravě, kde dále vystoupil v rolích Vervy, Konečného v Janáčkově Osudu, Marchese v La Traviatě nebo jako barytonová postava ve čtyřnotové opeře Toma Johnsona.
V sezóně 2015/2016 ztvárnil roli Papagena v opeře Die Zauberflöte v divadle v Liberci. V listopadu téhož roku se zúčastnil Mezinárodní pěvecké soutěže Antonína Dvořáka, kde získal 3. cenu v kategorii Junior a cenu Národního divadla v Brně.
Jeho další zahraniční působení zahrnují také Jihokorejské Daegu, kde ztvárnil roli Papagena v Kouzelné flétně. V září roku 2016 zpíval s Viener concertverein, maestrem Jamesem Juddem v první sezóně divadla v nové opeře v Dubai.
Několikrát vystoupil na Janáčkově máji, například v barytonovém partu v Te Deum od Anotnína Dvořáka.
Na podzim roku 2014 debutoval v Jihočeském divadle v představení Le nozze di Figaro v titulní roli Figara, za kterou byl následně v širší nominaci na cenu Thálie.
Zúčastnil se několika pěvecký kurzů, mimo jiné u Renato Brusona, Bernda Weikla, Adama Plachetky a dalších a zpíval s několika českými orchestry. S Janáčkovou filharmonií, Filharmonií Bohuslava Martinů, FOK, Brněnskou Filharmonii, Plzeňskou filharmonií aj.
Lukáš Bařák, pochází z valašského Hutiska Solance. Je absolventem Akademie múzických umění v Praze pod vedením prof. Ivana Kusnjera. Dále studoval na Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst ve Vídni u Prof. Margit Klaushofer v oboru Opera (prof. Beverly Blankenship a prof. Peter Marschik) a také v oboru Píseň a oratorium (prof. Charles Spencer)
